George Foreman Tribute to Lyndon B. Johnson Scholarship

Created by Olympic gold medalist and world boxing champion George Foreman, this scholarship honors both President Lyndon B. Johnson and RTDNA Foundation founder Barney Oldfield—two figures who profoundly influenced Foreman’s life. Foreman credits the Job Corps, established by President Johnson, with changing the course of his youth, and Oldfield, a program sponsor, with becoming his lifelong mentor. This scholarship continues that legacy of mentorship, opportunity, and service by supporting aspiring journalists at the University of Texas at Austin.
