Lou & Carole Prato Scholarship

The Lou & Carole Prato Sports Reporting Scholarship honors Louis F. Prato, a longtime RTDNA and RTDNA Foundation leader who dedicated more than 30 years to advancing excellence in journalism. A respected sports broadcaster, news director, and journalism professor, Prato also authored several books on Penn State football and served as Director of the Penn State All-Sports Museum. Established in 2001, this scholarship recognizes students who embody his journalistic integrity and passion for sports reporting.

Eligibility

  • Open to undergraduate students pursuing careers in radio, television, or digital journalism

  • Must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors at the time of the award

  • Must plan to continue undergraduate studies in the upcoming Fall semester
