Robert Novak Journalism Fellowship

Robert Novak Journalism Fellowships are intended to allow journalists early in their careers to pursue major reporting and research projects they would otherwise be unable to undertake. Applicants should have less than 10 years experience as professional journalists and must be U.S. citizens. Projects are expected to include some reporting component and to be broadly supportive of the principles of a free society. Each fellowship provides $30,000 in grant income and $5,000 expense assistance.

The application form requires the following information and materials:

  • CV or resume
  • Three published writing samples
  • Fellowship project proposal
  • Project budget statement
  • One letter of reference from someone familiar with your writing
