SEJ’s Story Grants on the Clean Energy Transition

January 8, 2024 (11:59 p.m. ET) is the deadline for proposals to SEJ’s Fund for Environmental Journalism (FEJ) for grants up to $5,000 for stipends and expenses such as travel, multimedia production, translation and more. Story proposals on electrification in local communities are encouraged, as well as those that reflect diverse and inclusive perspectives.

The application portal is open now. Proposals must include a narrative, media dissemination plan, qualifications, letter of support from editor(s), and detailed budget. Entry fees will be waived for members of SEJ and members of affinity journalism associations (AAJA, IJA, Military Veterans in Journalism, NABJ, NAHJ, NLGJA, SAJA, The Uproot Project, and/or Trans Journalists Association). Non-members whose professional work meets SEJ’s membership eligibility requirements may apply with $40 fee. Please review the complete guidelines before applying.
