Sisters of Mercy North Carolina

The Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina Foundation is a ministry of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas operating exclusively for their Community and extending their outreach through community based philanthropy.

As a Roman Catholic organization rooted in the Gospel and animated by the passion of Catherine McAuley, the founder of the Sisters of Mercy, the Foundation strives to give voice to the poor.

Through its grant-making, The Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina Foundation’s goal is to give those experiencing poverty access to services and opportunities that foster self-sufficiency and self-determination, and transform the quality of their lives in a sustainable way.

The Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina Foundation invests in ecumenical, collaborative and multi-cultural non-profit organizations whose missions are consistent with the Sisters of Mercy, whose expertise we respect, and which effect positive change for individuals and families and the systems that impact them.  Consistent with the values of the Foundation, the Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina Foundation supports organizations which serve with compassion and respect for the dignity of each person.
