Bob Horner Scholarship

The Bob Horner Scholarship, established in 2020 by veteran broadcast journalist Robert “Bob” Horner, supports undergraduate students pursuing careers in broadcast or video-driven journalism. Horner, who founded NBC News Channel and led it until 2017, created the scholarship to encourage young journalists committed to informing the public through video, documentaries, and digital storytelling.

Eligibility

  • Open to undergraduate journalism or communication students

  • Priority given to students pursuing careers in:

    • Broadcast journalism

    • Video-based reporting, such as documentaries or digital journalism

  • Applicants must plan to continue undergraduate studies in the upcoming Fall semester
