The Pulitzer Center’s Gender Equality Grant supports investigative and data-driven journalism projects focused on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls worldwide.   • Average grant size: $5,000 (projects of any scope and size considered).
  • Contractor costs (data researchers, designers, illustrators) may be included.
  • In exceptional cases, stipends for freelancers’ time may be considered.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

  • A project description (max 250 words).
  • A preliminary budget with cost breakdown.
  • A compelling distribution plan.
